Caring & Optimal Usage TipsHow to care for your earplugs — and when to replace them
Reusable silicone earplugs are designed to last — but only if you treat them right. Here's what you need to know.
Cleaning after every use
Rinse with warm water and mild soap after each use. Gently rub the surface to remove earwax and debris, rinse thoroughly, and let them air dry completely before putting them back in the case. Never use alcohol, bleach or harsh solvents — they degrade the silicone over time and can irritate the ear canal.
Store them properly
Always keep them in their case when not in use. Loose earplugs collect dust, lint and bacteria faster than you'd think — and you're putting these directly into your ear canal every night.
Check them regularly
Before each use, give them a quick look. If you notice any of the following, it's time to replace them:
— Visible cracks, tears or deformation in the silicone
— Discolouration that doesn't wash off
— Loss of elasticity — they no longer return to shape after compression
— Persistent odour even after cleaning
— Any irritation or discomfort in the ear canalWhen to replace them
Even with proper care, we recommend replacing your earplugs every 2 to 4 months with nightly use. Silicone degrades gradually with repeated cleaning and compression, and worn-down earplugs lose both their seal and their noise reduction capacity. A compromised seal means compromised sleep — and that defeats the point entirely. One more thing
If you share a bed with someone, never share earplugs. The ear canal has its own microbiome — keep it that way.
